Frances Ann (Annie) Stockton, 45, Ozawkie, tragically died in a 2-car accident on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.
She was born December 8, 1975, to the Rev. Francis E. and Donna Ann (Malloy) Stockton. As a child,
Annie attended numerous primary and middle schools throughout Kansas, graduating high school from
Independence, KS. After high school Annie went on to pursue her love of music at Baker University.
Annie's love for music started when she was enrolled at the age two in the Suzuki Violin Education
Program, "The Topeka String Project". As a young girl, Annie loved performing and playing in the
Stockton family band "Theophany", traveling from the Midwest to the East Coast during the summers
playing at churches and town festivals. This passion for music led her to earning a BA degree from Baker
University in Music Performance. While her primary instrument was the violin, Annie also played the
clarinet and trumpet as a member of her high school orchestra and marching band, performing in
numerous local events and competitions. Annie was able to use her talents in music as a church choir
director and most recently as Assistant Manager for Manning Music where she impacted the lives of
many through her love of music. Her customers continually commented on her cheerful disposition,
knowledge of music and her ability to keep their instruments playing … truly Annie's dream job!!
Throughout her life Annie was extremely active in the United Methodist Church Youth and Adult
Programs. As a youth she helped plan United Nations (U.N.) / District of Columbia (D.C.) and Holy Lands
youth tours for the Kansas East Conference Youth. She attended numerous mission trips including
working the summer after high school, at a Presbyterian Church Camp, Montreat, in Ashville, North
Carolina.
Annie was truly a good-hearted and God centered person who was always willing to stop what she was
doing to help another in need. Her smile was powerful and the empathy she shared was overwhelming.
She is survived by her parents; Son, Rodnel Turner, Topeka; Sisters Michelle (Scott) Miles, Leawood;
Sarah (Kendall) Mille, Gardner; Carrie (Maxine) Stockton, San Antonio, Texas; and a longtime
companion, Michael VanDam, Topeka. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Emily and Madalyn
Miles, Hayden, Dalton, Dwayne, Karina and Tegan Mille and Alana Stockton. She also leaves behind her
beloved fur babies: Lady, Cocoa and Buddy.
Rest peacefully with the Angels our sweet Annie … we love you, miss you and will see you soon!
