Floyd Geasland, Sr.

Floyd Ellis Geasland, Sr., was born November 26, 1932 in Caney, Kansas. the son of Geraldine Key and Bud Smiley.   He attended high school in Valley Center, Kansas, graduating in 1950.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State in 1954.   He later received his master’s degree at Pittsburg State University.

Floyd was a Major in the United States Army.  He was a bank examiner for the FDIC and entrepreneur and business owner for Financial Services.   He was a Sunday school deacon, and Sunday school teacher in several Southern Baptist Churches.

He was preceded in death by his parents Geraldine (Key) and Bud Smiley.

On June 6, 1954 he married Doris Jane Dimmit.  Later he married Jacqualin Adair on March 29, 1969.   He combined two families into one.

Floyd had six children, Jerry Greiner of Mission, Kansas, Mark Griener (deceased), Floyd Geasland, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, Geri Lynn Geasland of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dale Greiner of Topeka, Kansas and Robin Cox of Topeka, Kansas; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services for Floyd will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 26 ^th at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka, Kansas.
