Eva J. McCullough

Eva Jean McCullough, 64, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, surrounded by family, after facing her final challenge with the same strength and fire that defined her entire life.

Born on September 2, 1960, Eva was the daughter of the late William “Tommy” Johnston and Leona Mae Johnson. She was a proud, tenacious, artistic soul who lived on her own terms and never hesitated to speak her mind—but beneath that fiery spirit was a fiercely caring woman who loved deeply and gave freely, especially to her family.

Eva is survived by her husband, Roger McCullough; her son, Kyle Colclasure, and his wife, Kathy; and her four grandchildren: Jaycee, Isaac, Kylie, and Hunter—who were the absolute lights of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Nancy and Willie. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She had many creative passions, from gardening and drawing to sewing and beading jewelry. But in her later years, her greatest joy came from time spent with her husband, son, and grandkids—making them laugh, crafting them gifts, and doing everything she could to make their worlds a little brighter.

Eva was brave, feisty, and unafraid of standing her ground—a quality that earned her respect and admiration from everyone who truly knew her. She wasn’t easy to forget, and she wouldn’t have wanted to be.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with visitation beginning at noon on Saturday May 17th, at Parker-Price and Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Midland Hospice Care or Helping Hands Humane Society in Topeka—two causes close to her heart.

Eva lived loud, loved hard, and leaves behind a legacy of strength, creativity, and devotion. She will be missed beyond words.
