Elizabeth A. Mccarty

Elizabeth “Libby” A. McCarty, 79, of Topeka passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022.  She was born November 14, 1942 in Topeka the Daniel and Wilma Shelton McCarty.   She was raised in Oakland and attended State Street Elementary School and then graduated from Highland Park High School.   She worked in food service at the United Methodist Home located at 1135 SW College, KNI, where she worked with children, later she worked as a cook at the Santa Fe Hospital and finally at Highland Park High School in food service before retiring.   She volunteered at the Salvation Army and was loved by her friends and co-workers there.   She also was the primary caregiver for a child for many years.

Lillie loved music, especially the kind she could dance too.  She also enjoyed turkey drumsticks, okra, Pepsi and chocolate.

She is survived by her sister, Carol Pargman, Topeka; eight nieces and nephews and lots of cousins.   She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wibur McCarty, Ronnie McCarty and Danny McCarty.

Cremation is planned.  Graveside inurnment will held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Prairie Home Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to Elara Hospice.  www.davidsonfuneral.com
