Edward V. Merritt

Edward V. Merritt, age 92, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Stormont Vail Hospital.  Ed was born April 22, 1928 in Topeka the son of Tobias and Flossie (Frost) Merritt.  He married Vivian M. Luellen November 15, 1946 in Topeka.  She preceded Ed in death June 14, 2016.  Ed worked as a carpenter for Whelan’s and T&K Millwork in Topeka.  He was a member and past president of the Cabinet Makers Union.  Ed and Vivian enjoyed fishing and camping in their later years as well as garage sales and flea markets.  Ed is survived by a son, Ken (Carleen) Merritt of Meriden; a daughter, Brenda (Jerry) Bumgarner of Topeka; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the West Lawn Memorial Gardens.  He will lie in state Tuesday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
