Duane William Burress, 81, of Meriden, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

He was born April 6, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Merril Floyd and Gladys Mildred (Hawk) Burress. He attended Silver Lake High School.

Duane married Sharon Adell Green on May 7, 1965 in Holton, KS.

He worked for the Jefferson West School District in Meriden.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, but especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved working on the farm and tending to the animals and garden. He loved watching NASCAR and was a supporter of Dale Earnhardt Sr. Duane was a proud owner of a Corvette and Nova II SS.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Adell Burress; children, Lori Bradley, Bill (Tamara) Burress, and Dawn (Mike) Shepard; grandchildren, Chelsey, Scott, Savanna, Duane, Joey, Josh, Garyn, Tori and Emma; his great grandchildren, Avery, Baelyn, Rixton, Owen and Lynleigh. He was preceded in death by his son, Duane Burress Jr.; grandchild, Ryon; his parents and brother, Ronald Burress.

His family will greet friends and relatives from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Parker Price and Davidson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 10:00 am., Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at the Parker-Price & Davidson Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka. He will be laid to rest at Meriden Cemetery in Meriden, Kansas. In his honor, memorial contributions may be to the Grey Wolves of the Meriden United Methodist Church.
