Dr. Tommy Lee Mah

November 17, 1947 — December 25, 2021

Dr. Tommy Lee Mah, age 74, of Topeka, passed away Christmas Day, 2021.  Dr. Mah was born November 17, 1947 in Topeka, KS the son of Frank and Mee Mah.  He was the youngest of five children born to this union.  Mr. Mah graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Botany.  He worked at Hallmark Card while in school. He then started pre-vet courses at Washburn and Kanas State University and was selected to enter Kansas State Veterinary College.  He graduated in the top of his class.  His parents and family were so proud of him. He got a job at the Animal Clinic of North Topeka after graduation. He worked there and eventually became the owner. Dr. Mah was a perfectionist. He never stopped reading veterinary journals to learn all he could so he would have the answer to many problems and diagnoses. Mr. Mah was a great surgeon.  He was hones, humble and private.  He was very much respected in the community and at Kansas State University.  He was loved by so many of his clients because he cared about them and their animals.  While at Kansas State, Dr. Mah took Al State in Men’s singles and doubles tennis. He won several trophies over the years in tennis.  He also was an avid Table Tennis player, and played with a group at a Topeka church as often as his schedule would allow.  One of Dr. Mah’s favorite hobbies was shooting sporting clays.  He started years ago and continued to perfect his game, again winning trophies for his skills.  He is survived by his wife, Sharon of 48 years; a son, Tyler of Lenexa, KS and his siblings, Beverly Lee of Topeka, John (Linda) Mah of Topeka,  and Barbara Sudbrink of Brandon, Florida.  He was preceded in death by a brother, James Mah.

At this time, no memorial services are planned.  Due to the health of his wife, Sharon, who’s was also hospitalized, it is not possible to have services at this time. The family encourages everyone to make a donation to Kansas State Veterinary College in Dr. Mah’s name.
