When attending just about any sporting event at the University of Kansas whether at home or away one most likely saw Dennis’s face. He was a true fan and supporter of KU student athletes as both a loyal and faithful contributor over his adult life in attendance and through the Williams Fund. sometimes with his wife Patti and their fur-babies along for the cross -country trips but for sure He was there.
Dennis was born Jan 26,1947 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Russell and Mary “Bernice” (Trezise) Beach. He attended school in the Seaman School District and graduated from Seaman High School in 1965.
Dennis and his brother Dallas spent many a summer working with their father for Beach Trucking. Dennis then went on to graduate from the University of Kansas in 1969 with his Bachelor’s in Education. Dennis taught school and coached at Gove, Overbrook, and St Mary’s Middle Schools. He also tried his hand at many different professions including various jobs at different manufacturing plants before settling on Computer Science where upon He then returned to school at Penn Valley, Kansas City, Missouri to earn his second degree.
Dennis worked for several different companies over the years as a Computer Programmer Analyst including Sprint before retiring at the age of 77 as a contractor with the Department of Defense, USMC division.
Dennis was united in marriage to Patricia “Patti” Rice at the Reinisch Rose Gardens Gage Park, Topeka Kansas on September 10, 1988.
Dennis is survived by his wife Patti at home in Lawrence, Kansas.
He is also survived by his sisters Debbie Springer (Jim) of Castle Rock, Colorado; Janet Logan (Keith) of Dover Kansas; Mona Pilecki (Jim) of Hoyt, Kansas. Plus, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Bernice Beach; a brother Dallas Beach; a sister Mary Beach and his father and mother-in-law Carl E and Marilyn Rice.
Services for Dennis are being held at Parker- Price & Davidson at 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka Kansas 66608 on Tuesday September 2nd at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery with a reception to follow at Parker-Price & Davidson’s Reception Center.
