David Scott Wyatt (Dave), 57, of Hoyt, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2026. He was born on January 25, 1969 in Topeka the son of Robert and Edna Bent Wyatt. Following high school, Dave attended and graduated from Beloit Vo-tech. After graduation he returned to the Topeka area where he met his wife and eventually began a career at the Goodyear Plant of Topeka. Prior to retirement, he worked for over 20 years, serving many years as a Union Steward. Dave was the best husband, most amazing dad, great little brother, coolest uncle, and a true friend. Dave was a man of faith; he was loyal, honest, sincere, and a man of his word. He loved his family and friends, working tirelessly helping them; and the occasional stranger, making our world a better place. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, going to auctions, and spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed watching his great nephews and nieces sporting and school activities, and his nightly drives with "Dixie" and "Rawlings" looking for things to bark at.
Dave is survived by his wife of 28 years Tracie Wyatt (Hoyt), daughter Shaiann and her husband Austin Murphy (Ohio), and son Archer Carpenter-Wyatt (Hoyt). He is also survived by his brothers Bob and his wife Linda, Mike and his wife Joetta, and Pat Wyatt, and his in-laws who saw him as a son and brother that they didn't have. His "old people" Ted and his wife Eltanis Volen, and sister Carla and her husband George Carpenter. He has several nieces and nephews, and their children (great nieces and nephews) that he loved and was loved by. He was preceded in death by both his mother and father Robert and Edna (Bent) Wyatt, and his brother Ron Wyatt.
Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 4:30 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Parker-Price and Davidson Cremations and Funerals, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, KS 66608. www.ppdfuneral.com
Please dress as you would any other day. Dave was into comfort over fashion so he would not want it any other way. Reception will immediately follow service.
Although our loss is undefinable by words, his love and legacy live on.
