Darlene Kay Shively, 64, of Topeka was born October 13, 1960 in Topeka the daughter of John N. and Lela L. Clark Wilson. Darlene was raised on the family farm at Scranton. She attended Santa Fe Trail school and graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School with the class of 1978.
She met Marlan Shively and they were married May 19, 1979 at Carbondale.
Darlene lived most of her adult life in the Topeka area. She worked for over 35 years as a Customer Representative with the Kansas Department of Revenue in Topeka. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Topeka. Darlene also enjoyed cooking, and traveling. Darlene and Marlan made several trips a year to the Branson area.
She is survived by her husband Marlan Shively of Topeka; son John Shively and wife Shannon of Topeka; brother, Jerry Wilson and wife Judy of Scranton; grandchildren, Kelsey Bates (Dustin Fowler) of Holton and Trevor Bates of Topeka; six great-grandchildren; multiple cousins and two best friends, Sonja Wilson and Becky Finger also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66615. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:30 am until the service hour. Funeral services will begin at 11:00. Following the service interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society.
