Dale A. Eakin, a gentle soul known for always having a story to share, passed away on March 21, 2026, in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on June 1, 1941, in Delia, Kansas. Dale lived a life marked by dedication to his work, his family, and his community.
Dale graduated from Delia High School and went on to work at Kopp Rug Company. Later in his career, he and his wife, Janell, started their own business, the Eakin Carpet Company. Together, they built the company with care and commitment until Dale retired in 2009.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janell Eakin, whom he married on December 31, 1984, in Lawrence, Kansas. Dale was a devoted father to his children: Steve Eakin and his wife Julie, Ellen Magner, and Jeffrey Billbe. He also leaves behind his sister Clara Brooks, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren who will carry forward his memory.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Dale Eakin; his mother, Catherine (McNieve) Eakin; his twin sister, Mary Rose; and his brother, George Eakin.
He passed away surrounded by family, reflecting the close bonds and love he shared throughout his life. All who knew Dale remember him as a man with stories to tell, a calm demeanor, and a heart filled with care.
Family and friends are invited to honor Dale’s memory during visitation on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Parker-Price & Davidson, located at 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, Kansas. A funeral service will follow on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Dale A. Eakin will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
