Listen to Obituary

Connie passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026 at her Topeka home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Connie was born February 25, 1948 in Topeka, Kansas daughter of Orville and Lois Sinsabaugh. She graduated from Topeka West high school in 1966.

Connie resided in Topeka until 1980 when she moved to Dodge City, Kansas where she met her significant other Rick Keas. They were together until his death in 2015.

Connie was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Topeka for 18 years, then the Wester Plains Hospital in Dodge City for 17 years before retiring.

She then spent her time reading her romance novels and watching westerns and Murdock Mysteries.

Connie has survived by her sons, John and Shane Funk of Topeka, her sister, Linda (John) Swartz, three grandsons, four granddaughters, a great grandson and many friends in her Dodge City Abate family.

She is also survived by a special daughter-in-law Connie Munsell Funk who was her companion and caregiver for the last three years.

She leaves behind her lifelong best friend Judy Massey who was her “calm”, her rock in her final days. It’s been one hell of a ride for Thelma & Louise.

Honoring her wishes, cremation is planned and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Dodge City.
