Colleen Marie Geiger was born on May 29, 1926 at Clay Center, Kansas the daughter of Benjamin Reed and Frances Misner Reed. She passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 of natural causes. Colleen grew up and attended the local public schools in Clay Center.
Colleen was married to Rex Geiger on July 1, 1951. She was a homemaker who supported her husband’s Southwestern Bell career. They lived in numerous cities across Kansas.
Rex passed away in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Mooradian; great-grandson, Samuel Mize, brother, Lee Reed; and sisters, Dorothy Kendrick and Bonnie Hansen.
She is survived by four grandsons; Paul (Linda) Marler of Littleton, Colorado, Carey (Mary) Mooradian of Topeka, Brandon (Susanne) Mooradian of Marysville, and Chad (Melinda) Mooradian of Meriden; two granddaughters, Amber (Brad) Neiberger of Valley Falls, and Nicole (Brian) Mize of Nortonville; two sisters, Ruby DeRosset of Waco Texas and Delores Fulton of Clay Center; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Geiger will lie in state from 1-5 on Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, prior to her funeral service on Monday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am Services will begin at 10:00. Interment will follow at the Grantville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trash Mountain Project or to Let’s Help in care of the funeral home.
