Clinton Scully Potter, 69, of Topeka passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017. He was born May 6, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Dr. Stanley E. Potter and Margaret Gale Scully Potter. Clinton was raised in Omaha attended Lewis and Clark Junior High and Benson High School, graduating in 1966. He later attended Grinnell College at Grinnell, Iowa.
After moving to Topeka, Clinton worked as an orderly at several area nursing homes. Meanwhile he began a long period of service to the VA Hospital. He accumulated over 2000 volunteer hours at the VA. One of his favorite duties was serving as escort which provided transportation for the patients there. Clinton later worked for over 12 years at Adams Business Forms. He attended University United Methodist Church with his wife.
On June 18, 1983, Clinton was united in marriage to Diane at Klasse Chapel at First United Methodist Church in Topeka. Diane Potter survives at their home in Topeka.
Survivors include two brothers, George Benjamin Potter and wife Mona of rural Union Bridge, Maryland, and Timothy Gale Potter of Omaha, Nebraska; two brothers-in-law, Mike Blair of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Steve Stich of Leavenworth, Kansas; nephews, Mike Harden and wife Marilyn of Hoyt, Kansas, Tommy C. Harden of Littleton, Colorado and wife Jo Ann, Jason Blair of New York, New York and Jeff Blair of Blair, Nebraska; three nieces also survive, Janet L. Blair of Denver, Colorado and Christine L. Wecas and husband Aaron of Leavenworth, Kansas, Susan Gellings of Topeka. Two special friends, Carly Ann his toy poodle and D.D. his miniature dachshound.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Ethel Patterson Kent and Orlan Gene Kent; sisters-in-law, Donna Jean Harden, Shirley Ann Blair and Sherri Kay Stich.
Funeral services will be held at University United Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 2-5 Saturday afternoon at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N Kansas Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66608.
