Charlotte Ann Cairns, 87, of Topeka, was born October 15, 1938 in Barnes, Kansas the daughter of Henry and Eva (Fincham) Samsel. She graduated from high school at Barnes with the class of 1956.

She married Marvin Cairns on September 30, 1956 at Greenleaf, Kansas.

Charlotte moved to Topeka in 1965 from Greenleaf. She was a teller at several banks in the Topeka area. She attended Northland Christian Church and later First Baptist Church in Silver Lake. Charlotte was the church pianist at Southwest Christian Church. She was a Red Hat Lady and loved to play bunco. Jesus and her family were the most important people in her life.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Robbie Cairns (Paula) of Blue Springs, Mo, Mel Cairns (Jennifer) of Silver Lake, Pamela Albin (William) of Elizabeth, Colorado, Jodi Maryott (David) of Topeka, and Jay Cairns (Jo Ann) of Silver Lake; grandchildren, Liberty Hutchinson, Carissa Berning, Casey Gould, Mindy Motta, Matthew Cairns, Nick Cairns, Katy Cairns, Haley Faircloth, Dylan Albin, Justin Maryott, Jai Maryott, Jenna Fangman, Josephine Maryott, Kaela Blan, Heather Lindner, Joshua Cairns and Robbie Kenney; and 27 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Cindy Cairns and her husband Marvin Cairns on July 26, 2005.

Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Silver Lake on Saturday, March 21st beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Parker-Price and Davidson in Topeka is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the NE Kansas Alzheimer’s Association or to Midland Hospice Home. www.ppdfuneral.com
