Bobbie Lou Clough, 88, Meriden, died Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Topeka.

Bobbie was born at her family’s residence in Chelsea, OK. While growing up, she lived in Oklahoma and Kansas. She graduated from Highland Park High School Topeka, Ks in 1956.

She married the love of her life, Rex D. Clough on July 8, 1956, in Topeka, KS. They built their home next to her parents, Jake & Wasale Dillion on their farm near Grantville in 1969. In September of 1969, their daughter Debra Ann was born. Bobbie was a stay-at-home mom while Debbie was growing up.

Bobbie was a para at the Perry Lecompton School district for several years working at the Perry and Grantville Grade Schools. At Stormont Vail, she worked as an Account Representative for 16.5 years.

She was very active in Jefferson County 4-H for over 35 years, serving as the local community leader for the Grantville Circle G 4-H Club for several years. Foods and food preservation were projects where she served as the Fair Superintendent. She also served as a judge for foods and foods preservation for Jefferson, Douglas and Shawnee Counties.

She was a member of the RWD#1 board and a 25yr member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Meriden.

Bobbie had served on the Jefferson County Health Board since 2009. She was also active in the Jefferson County Economic Extension Unit in the Grantville Unit.

At the Grantville United Methodist Church, she was very active. Bobbie served as the Staff-Parish Relations Committee (SPRC), the personnel director bridging the gap between staff, the congregation and the district superintendent. She also coordinated ordering the poinsettias at Christmas time and the Easter flowers for Easter Service. She also was active in the United Methodist Women’s group, serving as the Chair for the bake sale at the Annual fall dinner. Bobbie also coordinated gathering and making treats for KNI each month. She was the committee chairperson for the church scholarship fund.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake & Wasale Dillion and her husband Rex D. Clough, her beloved Pets, Bo and Ally and Gigi. She is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Clough- Schmitz and her husband Phillip, Meriden. Other survivors include grandchildren: Serena & Eric Gazay, Ozark, Mo; Air Force Master Sergeant Devin & Yuni Schmitz, Japan; & Army Sergeant Jonathon Elder-Schmitz & fiancé Zoe Akers, Charlestown, IN. Great-grandchildren: Cora & Hunter Gazay, Ozark, MO; and Sam, her 16 yr. Siamese cat as well as her loyal 14 yr. old barn cat Mousey.

Services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday February 28, 2026, at the Grantville United Methodist Church, Grantville, KS. Burial will be at the Grantville Cemetery. Mrs. Clough will lie in state at the Grantville United Methodist Church at 9:30 am, where visitation with the family will be from 9:30-11:00 am.
