Beverly (Spreer) Wright, 71, Perry, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019.

She was born August 7, 1948, in Greenleaf, Kansas, the daughter of Alfred and Alice (Rahe) Spreer. She graduated from Perry Rural High School in 1966.

Beverly was a homemaker who stayed home to take care of her children while they were young. She also took care of several of the neighborhood children during that time. When her children started school, she worked in the cafeteria in the Perry-Lecompton school district with her mother. Beverly then worked at Aeroquip which later became Kenodyne. She remained there until 1993 when her first grandchild was born. Family was very important to Beverly, so she then stayed home and cared for all 5 of her grandchildren over the next 16 years. She was very supportive of the activities/careers of her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ken, and her family.

Beverly married Kenneth D. Wright on July 12, 1969 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include two children: Stefanie (Brad) Shackelford, Lecompton and Shannon (Kerri) Wright, Perry; two brothers, Stanley (Debbie) Spreer, Lawrence and Kenny (Paula) Spreer, Grantville; five grandchildren, Austin, Kyle and Corey Shackelford and Allyson and Mason Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Dennis, Gary and Jim Spreer and one sister, Doris Rusche.

Memorial ceremony will be held at 4 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Parker-Price Funeral Home.
