Betty Elaine (Webb) Kalcik, 95, of Silver Lake, Kansas passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at home surrounded by family.

She was born to L.E. and Clara Mae (Crotinger) Webb in Dodge City, KS. on April 17, 1929. She spent her early years in Dodge City before moving to Lincoln, NE for 2 years when she was 8 & 9 for her father's work. She moved to Topeka, KS in 1939 where she attended Boswell Jr. High, graduated from Topeka High in 1947. Betty then attended Baker University and went on to teach in several one room schools including Schoen School in Hodgeman County, Walnut Hill - rural Silver Lake and Capitol View - west of Hoyt, KS.

She married Raymond Kalcik on August 25, 1951 and to this union 4 children were born: Elaine, Russell, Diane, and Kathy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond; her brothers, Maurice Webb & Marvin Webb and daughter-in-law, Glenda Kalcik.

Betty was a homemaker and farm wife, and then worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield for 17 yrs. She enjoyed music, sewing, flowers, sending cards to friends and family and going for drives.

Betty was a lifelong member of the Silver Lake United Methodist Church & United Methodist Women. Betty also belonged to the Red Hat group, various Book Clubs, Grove 4-H with her children and served as a leader in several areas, Hoyt Sr. Citizens, Silver Lake Seniors/XYZ, Rebekahs, Grove Harvest Grange, Bethel Club, Lucky 5 and EHU.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Elaine Sheldon of Pawnee City, NE and her children; son Jeff & Emily Sheldon, Lincoln, NE (Bennett & Reid); daughter, Erin & Andrew Bunton, Oregon, IL (Hugh & Graham).

Son, Russell Kalcik and Lacy Besa, St. George, KS and his children; son, Travis & Nanette Kalcik, Wichita, KS (Adaline, Eloise and Evelyn); daughter Mallory & Joe Gardner, Hoyt, KS (Colton & Trenton).

Daughter, Diane and Dennis Morrison, Moundridge, KS and their children; Michelle Morrison, Atchison, KS and Matthew Morrison, Moundridge, KS.

Daughter, Kathy and John Kinsch, Topeka, KS and their children; Jake Kinsch, Nashville, TN & Adam Kinsch (fiancée Sydnee Bradley), Lawrence, KS. Along with many friends, nieces, nephews and her very special neighbors Gary & Meg Roberson.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Silver Lake United Methodist Church, 204 Madore Street, Silver Lake, Kansas 66539. Burial to follow at later date.
