Betty J. Fenton, 99, of Topeka ever feisty and determined to the end, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025. She was born April 6, 1926 in Topeka the daughter of George A. and Rachel Schuster Bolz. Betty was raised on the family farm in Shawnee County, west of Meriden and attended grade school, later graduating from Topeka High School in 1944.
Betty was married to George Fenton at Grace Episcopal Cathedral in Topeka in 1946. They moved to New Jersey and lived there for 30 years until the time of his passing. Betty moved back to Topeka and worked at the Menninger Foundation until she retired. Betty also was a self-employed farmer.
Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and being outdoors. She was active in 4-H in Trenton, New Jersey.
She was married to George Fenton, who preceded her in death on April 2, 1976.
Survivors include her children, Karen Fenton of Topeka, JoAnn Collins of Seattle, Washington, Donald Fenton of Onondaga, Michigan, Kenny Fenton of Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Julia Erickson of Jackson, Tennessee and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with funeral services starting at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Parker-Price and Davidson Cremations and Funerals, 245 NW Independence, Topeka Kansas 66608.
