Beatrice "Beya" King, a vibrant and unforgettable soul, departed this world on August 12, 2025, in Holton, Kansas, at the age of 36. Born on August 7, 1989, in Topeka, Kansas, Beya was a beacon of light in the lives of everyone she encountered.
Her infectious sense of humor was a hallmark of her personality, always knowing just what to say to bring a smile to those around her. Whether it was through her playful roasts or her unique ability to find light in the darkest situations, Beya had a remarkable gift for spreading joy. She cherished her family deeply and loved nothing more than to surround herself with her children and her beloved nieces and nephews, making every moment count.
Beya was a truly artistic spirit, with a passion for drawing, making bracelets, and writing heartfelt poems. Her creative endeavors were not just hobbies; they were expressions of her vibrant soul. A lover of music, she would often be found joyfully lost in melodies, sharing her favorite songs with family and friends. Bingo nights with her sisters were cherished traditions where laughter and friendly competition filled the air. Her love for food, especially Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb, brought her so much happiness, and even the simple moments of enjoying a meal turned into celebrations with her loved ones.
Beya's faith played a significant role in her life, guiding her through hard times and lifting her spirit. Surrounded by family at the time of her passing, her transition from this life is a testament to the strong bonds she cultivated throughout her journey.
She leaves behind her adored children, Amarii King and La'Mia King, who will carry on her legacy of laughter and love. Beya is survived by her devoted sisters: Theresa (Gerardo) Estrada, Susan (Barry Pugh) King, and Ricki (Wes Rayton) King. Additionally, her loving maternal grandmother, Theresa Espinoza, along with her godparents, Raymond Martinez and Beth Kettle, stand as pillars of strength in the wake of their loss. She also leaves behind her beloved goddaughter, Luna Estrada, and godson, DeAndre Pugh, in whom she instilled her compassion and love.
Beya was preceded in death by her parents, Richard King and Susan (Martinez) King, and her grandparents, Raymond Martinez, James Delmore King, and Beatrice King. Each of them holds a special place in the hearts of those who remember her, guiding her spirit as she joins them in a peaceful reunion.
Though she has left this world too soon, Beatrice "Beya" King's legacy will endure through the smiles she gave and the love she shared.
