Ann D. Long

March 6, 1929 — March 13, 2025

Ann D. Long, a spirited soul born on March 6, 1929, in Topeka, Kansas, left this world on March 13, 2025, at Cedarhurst of Topeka. Ann's vibrant personality was characterized by her feisty and sassy nature, always loving and observant, effortlessly striking up a conversation with anyone she encountered. She was a friend to all, radiating warmth and charm much like her beloved daughter, Vikki.

Throughout her life, Ann embraced her various roles with joy and dedication. After leaving high school, she pursued a career as a basket weaver at the Basket Factory and later became a cherished housekeeper at the Country Inn. Her upbringing at Assumption Catholic Elementary School and Hayden High School instilled in her a strong foundation that she carried with grace into her adult life.

Family meant everything to Ann, and her proudest accomplishment was raising her daughter Vikki, whom she loved unconditionally. They shared many precious moments together, bonding over hair styling and shopping adventures. Ann's granddaughter, Angela, fondly remembers her grandmother's many sayings, treasures that will continue to resonate through the years.

Ann had an insatiable love for shopping, often seen exploring garage sales and thrift stores. She was a devoted regular at Hardee’s on 6th and Macvicar, relishing every moment spent there among friends. Her quest for the perfect hairstyle led her on a journey through every hair shop in Topeka, always searching for that elusive satisfaction. Her family lovingly drove "Ms. Daisy," simply because she didn’t want to drive herself. After her husband Michael T. Long passed away, she found great companionship in her nephew, Ron Roberts, who became her trusted sidekick.

In addition to her devoted grandchildren, Angela (Bryan) McDonald and Shannon (Jason) Mesker, Ann found boundless joy in her great-grandchildren: Camryn, Davin, Emerson McDonald, and Wells Mesker, who undoubtedly carry her spirit forward.

Ann now joins her late husband, Michael T. Long, her daughter Vikki L. Long, and her siblings Richard Reeb, Larry Reeb, Frank Reeb Jr, Betty Ashley, Mary Allen, and Sharon Vaughn in eternal rest.

Her feistiness, sass, and heartfelt connections with others will be forever remembered, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of calling her family or friend. Ann D. Long's legacy of love and laughter will continue to shine brightly in our memories, reminding us of the beauty of family, friendship, and conversation.
