Listen to Obituary

Angie-Kristin Allendorf Price, 58 years young, passed peacefully among family on December 15, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. There are so many who will remember her as Miss Angie or Coach Ang, but her favorite title was Grandma Angie.

She was born on April 1, 1967, in Topeka, the daughter of Dan and Betsy Allendorf, who survive her. Angie met her high school sweetheart, Michael Scott Price, in 1984 and later graduated valedictorian of Seaman High School in 1985. They were married on September 3, 1989, and spent 36 years side by side, through storm and sun, thick and thin, bringing two beautiful daughters into the world, Josie and Abby.

Angie graduated from Washburn University summa cum laude in 1989, quickly becoming an instructor and then coach of the Washburn University Dancing Blues, proudly leading them to five national championships over 33 years. After more than 25 years co-owning Center Stage Dance World, Angie, together with her daughter Josie, opened Infinity Dance Studio—where Angie’s love for dance and her dance students' lives on today.

She was also well known as a choreographer for many years with her theater family at Topeka Civic Theatre, creating dances for dozens of wonderful musicals. Angie also choreographed for Seaman High School, Shawnee Heights High School, and Washburn Rural High School. While her passion was putting dances on the stage for young people everywhere, she also loved teaching children how to sing and play piano out of her own home. Angie was a dedicated member of Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served as a youth music instructor and song leader for many years. Over nearly 40 years, she impacted the lives of thousands of children and adults, even teaching the children of some of her former students.

Missing her terribly will be her husband, Michael "Scott" Price; her daughters, Josie Dease and Abby Price-Offermann; her son-in-law, Micah; her cherished grandchildren, Carson and Harper, children of Josie (Price) Dease and her parents, Dan and Betsy Allendorf.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm at Parker-Price Davidson Funeral Home on Friday, December 19. A traditional service will be held at Parker-Price Davidson Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. A large celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Civic Theatre or to the Kansas Avenue Methodist Church.
