Allen L. Hochstedler, 81, of Tecumseh, passed away at home on December 18, 2022. He was born February 2, 1941 in Osceola, Missouri the son of Alva N. and Madeline Yvonne Wilson Hochstedler. He lived in Missouri until moving to Topeka at age 9. Allen graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960. Allen worked for KPL at the Tecumseh Power Plant for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Kaw Valley Gun Club and an archery club in Topeka. He liked to keep busy, especially outdoors chopping wood, work in the yard, hunting, fishing, pickle ball, tennis, ect.
Allen was married to Hazel Hendrickson on June 10, 1962 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2020.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Hochstedler and wife Julie of Topeka; daughter DeAnn Sloan and husband Michael of Topeka; brother, Jack Hochstedler and Sandy of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler, Evan, Erin, Austin, Mathew, Nicole and Kaitlyn; and seven great grandchildren.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Davidson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Berryton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
