Goldie Katherine Mcknight

Goldie Katherine McKnight, 89, of Topeka passed away March 30, 2017 at her home. Katherine was born November 16, 1927 to Earl Mitchell and Flossie Brown.

She met Artie McKnight in Gravette, Arkansas where they later married on February 9, 1946. Together they had three daughters. Katherine briefly worked as an egg breaker at the Seymore Packing House, and at Goodyear Tire on an assembly line.

She is survived by two daughters, Arlene M. Craig of Carbondale, and Joyce E. McKnight of Topeka; one sister Mary Ann Doud of Topeka; 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.

Katherine is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Artie, one daughter Patricia A. Wake, one infant sister, and one grandson Billy A. Hester, and one great granddaughter Jodie D. Householder.

She will lie in state Monday, April 3rd, from 2:00-7:30 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home with visitation Monday starting at 6:00-7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Rochester Cemetery.
