Robert Raymond Jacobs, Sr., 70, of Wakarusa, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He was born February 7, 1947 at Herington, Kansas the son of Paul and Erma Brandt Jacobs. Uncle Bob grew up in North Topeka and Oakland. After graduating from Topeka High School in 1965 he joined the Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a welder and Iron worker, living in California for many years before returning to Topeka in 1993. After retirement he made jewelry, making over 7000 different pieces. He enjoyed fishing, especially at Lake Shawnee and Osage State Fishing Lake. Uncle Bob played World Horseshoe Championships in California.
Survivors include his wife Iris Jacobs of Wakarusa; two sons, Robert Jacobs, Jr. and Shawn P. Jacobs both of Topeka; three grandchildren; and sisters, Pat Callaway of Topeka; Charlotte Burgen of Topeka and Carol Grimm of Monett, Mo, 7 nieces and 4 nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul David Jacobs and his parents.
