Robert "Steve" Stevens Owens

Robert “Steve” Owens, 61, of Topeka passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017. He was born October 24, 1955 at Lafayette, LA the son of Edwin and Opal Owens.   He was raised in New Orleans and graduated from high school there.   Steve was a welder by trade working on offshore oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska.

He was married to Patricia in June of 2004 at Kenai, Alaska. She survives.

Other survivors include his step-son, Jim Collie and his wife Donna of Topeka; step-daughter, Bobbi Kirtley and husband Mark of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Kenneth Owens and wife Cindy of Jonesboro, Tennessee; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves his good friend and companion, Dino.
