Gary Lee Hamlin

Gary Lee Hamlin, Sr., age 57, of Topeka passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Topeka. Gary was born June 9, 1959 in Topeka the daughter of William Hamlin Sr. and Margaret Taylor Hamlin. Gary graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1977. Gary served in the U.S. Army. He married Mary Ann Jones May 30, 2003 in Dawsonville, Georgia. Gary worked as a professional over the road truck driver for over 25 years, living in Florida and Topeka most of his life. He was preceded in death by a son John Paul Hamlin; a brother, William Dale Hamlin and a sister, Kathy Jo Hamlin. He is survived by his father, William Hamlin of Florida; his mother, Margaret Freeze of Topeka; a son, Gary Hamlin Jr. of Topeka; a daughter, Nadine Riley of Skipperville, Alabama; a brother, William P. Hamlin of Topeka; two sisters, Christine Hamlin and Charlene Stewart of Topeka and eight grandchildren.
Visitation services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission, Children’s Palace and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
