Margie Mae Morrison, age 90, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka. Margie was born February 5, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of Everett Damon and Madeline Lawson Damon. She grew up in Omaha, graduating from high school there. She married Melvin Penner. Seven children were born to this union. They later divorced. She married Marvin Morrison, he preceded her in death. She worked for Fleming Foods in Topeka, Scotch Cleaners and for Darlene Loller. She also worked as a Rosie the Riveter during the World War II. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Marie Penner and Judy Creassy, and two great grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Jerry Penner Sr. of Topeka, David Wayne Penner of Cornelia, GA and Gregg (Lisa) Penner of Tecumseh; two daughters, Marilyn (Peder) Paulson of Rochester, Minnesota and Sandra Penner of Topeka; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. Margie loved dancing, playing bingo and listening to country classic music. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagle Lodge and the American Legion.
Graveside services will be Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Penwell Gable Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the Margie Morrison Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
