James Ramskill

James Edward Ramskill, 78, of Tecumseh, Kansas passed away peacefully at home on Monday October 17, 2016. He was born April 11,1938 in Burlingame, Kansas to Robert & Elsie Ramskill. He was raised on a farm and graduated from Burlingame High in 1956.

Jim was a lifelong mechanic and machinist who later opened his own business, Jim's Truck & Diesel Repair in Topeka, KS. He later relocated to Tecumseh, KS. He was an avid machinist and always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and neighbors. Jim enjoyed spending evenings talking 'shop' with his friends.

He married Donna Reed and had four children, they later divorced. He then married Donna Singleton and had two children. They recently celebrated their 40th Anniversary.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Ramskill of Tecumseh, Kansas; daughter, Debbie Ramskill of Lawrence, Kansas; son, Scott Ramskill of Lawrence, Kansas; son, Robert Ramskill of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter Melinda Wells (Matt) of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter Jamie Guenther (Kyle) of Overbrook, Kansas and daughter, Samantha Ramskill (Eric Lang) of Overbrook, Kansas. Grandchildren: Colby, Shelbie, Angel, Lindsay, Austin, Riley, Reese, Clayton and Rhett. Great-grandchildren: Quinton and Tristan. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Clayton Ramskill and granddaughter Cassidy Guenther.

Cremation is planned. Visitation will be held Sunday October 23, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 North Kansas, Topeka, KS 66608. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Burlingame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to James Ramskill Memorial Fund, in care of The Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 North Kansas, Topeka, KS 66608.
