James Thomas

James G. Thomas, 71, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. James was born November 5, 1943 at Whiting, Kansas the son of G. “Earl” and Margaret Linneman Thomas. He graduated from the class of 1961 from Topeka High School. He worked for nearly twenty years for the ATSF Railroad and later was a general contractor.
On September 11, 1961 he was married to Mary at Lowman United Methodist Church in Topeka. She survives at their home. Other survivors include two daughters, Tami Langworthy and husband Dennis of Huntsville, Arkansas and Shelly Hamblin and her husband Rick of Rogers, Arkansas; son, Mark G. Thomas of Topeka; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Thomas and his mother and father.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 Thursday October 15, 2015 at Overbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 2-4 at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Midland Hospice in care of the funeral home.
