Lowell Gehrke

Lowell E. Gehrke, 88, of Topeka, passed away on September 17, 2015 at Legacy on 10th Street in Topeka. He was born August 9, 1927 at Ramona, Kansas, the son of Carl and Sophia Gehrke. Lowell served in the United States Army during the time of the Korean War. He worked in oil fields, drove a dump truck and later was a custodian for the school system in the Houston, Texas area.
Lowell was one of eight children. He had six brothers, all deceased. There was Arthur, Paul, Edwin, Leland, Oscar and Harvey. He is survived by his only sister, Juanita Tousignant who lives at Herington, Kansas.
Lowell was cremated. A memorial graveside service will be held at the Sunset Hills Cemetery at Herington on Wednesday, September 23rd at 1:30 pm.
