Ford L. Williams, age 91 of Topeka passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Ford was born November 4, 1923 in Sabetha, KS the son of George and Fern Williams. He graduated from Holton High School in 1941, living in Topeka most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. During W.W.II as a Crew Chief for B-25 bombers. He married Mary Lou Frazey July 23, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas while in the service. He worked for Associated Wholesale Grocers until retiring in the 1980’s. After retirement he was a sales rep for Flynn Brokerage, a wholesale food company. Ford enjoyed hunting and fishing. He competed in fishing tournaments with his son.
Survivors include Mary Lou Williams of Topeka; a son, Mike (Sheila) Williams of Emporia; a daughter, Mary L. Adkins of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a grandson, Chad (Michelle) Williams of Topeka and two great grandsons, Zachary and Kenneth. Ford was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Williams.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at davidsonfuneral.com.
