Jean M. Thompson

Miss Jean M. Thompson passed away on January 28, 2015 at a local care facility at the age of 102. She was born near Berryton, Kansas, on May 23, 1912, the daughter of Harvey and Anna Cochran Thompson. She was a lifelong Topeka area resident and lived in downtown Topeka by herself until the last two months. She was an accomplished singer and won many talent contests early in her life. She began a long and successful career in the photography business at Witcher's Studios in downtown Topeka. She also had her own business as a negative touch-up expert for photographic studios across the country. She received many awards for her contributions to the advance of the photography technology. She was a Master Photographer. She is survived by nieces and nephews living in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas and Texas. The family thanks Midland Care Hospice, the Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging, and the staffs at St. Francis Hospital and the Lexington Park Care facility.
Services will be Monday, February 2, 2015, at 11:00AM in the Abbey at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Midland Care Hospice and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Davidson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
