Alice Swafford, 81, of Topeka passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at her home. She was born July 23, 1933 the daughter of Floyd and Vera McCoy Niccum on her grandparent’s farm at Woodlawn in Nemaha, County. She was Director of Linen Services at Stormont-Vail for 30 years before retiring. She was married to Ralph Swafford. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1989.
She is survived by her son Robert Swafford and his wife Diana of Topeka; sister, Dixie Carlson of Topeka three grandchildren, Shannon Diaz, Brandi Swafford, Troy Swafford; six great-grandchildren, Riley Callahan, Jordan Hall, Morgan Boldridge, Zane Swafford, Ryan Swafford, and Tyler Swafford and one great-great-grandson, Brantley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings and a step-son Ralph Swafford, Jr.
Cremation is planned. A memorial visitation will be held from noon to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 24th at the Davidson Funeral Home. Private family inurnment services will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery later. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society.
