Rose E. Davis

Rose E. Davis, 87, of Topeka passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born November 19, 1926 at San Miguel County, New Mexico the daughter of R.E. and Fareda Gifford Blacketer. She enjoyed passing the time doing puzzle books and embroidery. She was a caretaker for several area families.
Survivors include children, Linda West in Oregon, Viola Fisher of Topeka and Art Davis and wife Pam in Iowa; her sister, Deloris Brownfield; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by three children, Jean Chalfant, Sammy Davis and Michael Ray Davis; three brothers, Charles, Earl and Glenn Blacketer and one sister, Maudie Hughbanks.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10th at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Topeka Cemetery. She will lie in state from 1-9 on Sunday, Nov 9th at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday evening.
